Sunday night the CCC Youth Group had its annual Christmas party. The stockings were hung over the roaring fake fireplace, and the tacky Christmas sweaters and santa hats were out in full force. Our Youth dressed up and put on their Christmas best to see who would win the Tackiest Christmas Attire Competition. Needless to say, everyone looked awesome!  We also had a White Elephant gift exchange which had everything from an Easy-Bake Oven, to a live mouse, crickets, and red-bellied frog. It was a great time!!

Thank you to everyone who came together to make this night a fun and special time! Here are some pictures from the night.

Congrats to Tucker Woodward, our winner of the Tacky Christmas Competition! (pictured first)

Merry Christmas!

We had another great time at the Great Pumpkin Race! Last Saturday our middle schoolers ventured out onto UF’s campus in an Amazing Race style scavenger hunt. They took pictures with statues, “Tebowed” with Tebow, climbed on the “French Fries”, sang in the Union Amphitheater, and even found athletes on campus to take pictures with, all while completing challenges and searching for pumpkins. It was a great time!

Thank you to all who participated and made it a Great Pumpkin Race!                        Here are some pictures from the race:

The Great Pumpkin Race is finally here! This coming saturday our Middle Schoolers will embark on an amazing race around the campus of UF to complete challenges and solve clues to earn the most pumpkins.  After the race, we will transport from campus to the Stankunas Home where we will announce the GPR winners, hangout by the bonfire and eat dinner. All Middle School students are welcome, invite your friends!

This event will be great, but we need your help to make this the best it can be. We need at least one chaperone with each group of 5 middle schoolers. As a chaperone, you will accompany your team throughout the race, will help them locate things/places on the map, and take pictures/videos of the team to complete various challenges.

We are also in need of drivers who are willing to bring students from campus to the Stankunas Home. Please contact Drew if you are willing to participate in the Race, transporting students, or doing both! (ddonovan@christcommunitychurch.com)

When? Saturday, October 13th: Meet at O’Connell Center Gate 1 at 2:30pm; Pickup from Stankunas Home at 7:30pm

Where? Great Pumpkin Race: UF Campus; Bonfire/Dinner: Stankunas Home

Who? All Middle School Students!

What to Bring? Permission Slip (All students must bring completed); Invite your Friends!

I would like to introduce two of our High School Sunday School teachers, James and Rachel Schrader. They will be joining us this fall at 9 am to teach our High Schoolers from the Sermon on the Mount.

James Schrader grew up in Crestview, FL and came to Gainesville to attend the University of Florida in 2006. He graduated with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration in 2009. James is now Principal of Forest Grove Christian Academy in Forest Grove (small city between Alachua and Newberry).

Rachel Schrader grew up in Ocala, FL and began attending the University of Florida in 2005. She graduated with her Bachelors degree in Health Science in 2009 and received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2012. She is now a physical therapist at Parklands Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Gainesville.

James and Rachel were married in 2009 and have been attending Christ Community since 2011.

We are excited to have them here and they are so excited to be in the lives of our students each week!

Last Sunday night  the youth gathered at the church for Messy Game Night. The event lived up to its name once again! Our youth played various games such as: bobbing for hotdogs, The Great Egg Toss, Flour Ball Fight, Marshmallow Paintball, and even played Ultimate Octopus. It was an extremely messy and awesome night! Here are some pictures from the night:
