Will & Breanna Connor are originally from southwest Michigan. The Lord used a Gideon’s New Testament to bring Will to repentance and faith in Christ in 1997. Breanna came to faith as a young girl with an early desire to “be a missionary”, and began to live that out during her teen years on short-term trips to the Dominican Republic and Ecuador. Will and Breanna wed with the intent to take the gospel of Jesus Christ to the foreign mission field, and for the past thirteen years have been preparing to do so. Together they have served as house parents for teenage mothers at both a rural maternity home and an urban transitional living facility for nearly four years, and have also been to Mexico short-term. Will has served on a variety of short-term trips in Haiti, Rwanda, Colombia, and India. They were appointed with Pioneers in 2010, a mission organization which “mobilizes teams to glorify God among unreached peoples by initiating church-planting movements in partnership with local churches”. Will and Breanna will soon join their teammates (a nurse practitioner and a midwife) in north India to begin ministry among a rural Himalayan people group of about 80,000 who embrace a mixture of Hindu, Buddhist, and animistic beliefs. Accompanied by their four children (Silas (11); Lydia (10); Ezra (3); and Asha (10 months)), they will seek to develop relationships for the kingdom among neighbors, and through business relationships and medical clinics. Breanna has an A.S in Nursing from Truman College in Chicago, and B.S. in Microbiology from the University of Florida. She has been a practicing R.N. for the past 7 years. Will has been a practicing histotechnician for the past 7 years, holding HT(ASCP)QIHC licensure. He also has a B.A. in Applied Linguistics from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, and has been slowly pursuing a M.Div. from Columbia Biblical Seminary and School of Ministry. Will and Breanna are members of Creekside Community Church in Gainesville, and particularly enjoy sharing life with international students in town.

A little while ago I announced to the youth that this is my last semester as Youth Director at Christ Community Church. I am stepping down in May. It was a very hard decision to make, but after a lot of prayer and conversations with the pastors and session of Christ Community, I decided that it was time for me to leave my position. I’m not sure what is coming next for Erin and me. We will be trying to figure that out over the next couple months. We greatly appreciate all the support you’ve shown us, and I personally rejoice to God that I’ve had the opportunity to do this job over the past four years. I started without much experience and thinking I knew more than I actually did (it was a quick, rude awakening), but God has been gracious to grow me and the youth ministry over the years. My heart melts when I think of God’s goodness in growing our group from 6 kids to 25-30 on Sunday nights. I’m blown away when I ponder the unthinkable providence of God in who He’s led to help in the youth ministry. The strongest feeling I have right now is sheer thankfulness for the relationships I’ve formed with the youth over the years. Watching the youth grow and learn and struggle and fight for joy and stumble and believe and open up and think and so much more has been something I will treasure for the rest of my life. Thank you for the opportunity to help lead your children. Thank you for the support you’ve shown the youth ministry. This is really hard for me, but I know God promises to be faithful to bring to completion that good work He’s began at the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:6). I am here for the next few months. I plan to work hard, be there for the youth, and leave the youth ministry in a strong position for it’s next phase. Please be praying.
In Christ,
Nate
To the Parents of the youth,
Nate Taylor has been a tremendous asset to Christ Community Church. In addition to leading our youth group, Nate and Erin have been vibrant participants in all phases of our church life. They are such a joy and strength to our church family. The session helped Nate process this change every step of the way. Though we don’t know what God has in store for them next we are very confident that He will continue to use them mightily as agents of grace and encouragement. What is next for CCC and the youth? The elders are working on that plan and you’ll be hearing from us in February. Until then, let’s continue to enjoy Nate’s leadership and and pray for God to provide the next step to the Taylors, and to Christ Community. Please contact me or any of the elders if you have any questions or comments.

Middle and high school discipleship groups are resuming in the new year this Wednesday, January 4th from 6:30 to 8 PM at the church. If your New Year’s resolution is getting more involved in the youth ministry, here’s the chance. Come on out!
To put a focus on “giving,” since we have received so much, CCC will collect
new children’s books on Christmas Day for the Children’s Hospital at Shands.
Anyone interested in bringing a children’s book, either wrapped or unwrapped,
can bring their book(s) to worship service next Sunday the 25th where they
will be collected. All books will be delivered to the Children’s Hospital.
Books are needed for children and teens of all ages.
