Meet the Teachers – Sharon and Frank Stankunas
Today I want to introduce you to our 2nd and 3rd grade Core Teachers during the 9am hour. Frank and Sharon Stankunas and their children have been a part of CCC for many years. Sharon is not only the lead teacher each Sunday but she is also one of the leaders of Women’s Bible Study. If you have kids in their class you can start to get excited about seeing them memorize huge portions of scripture, and being excited about it too! Their theme this year is Wonder… About God’s amazing plan! Next time you pass by her class peek in and see her fun circus-decorated room!
We asked Sharon a few questions about her and her family, below are her answers:
We have four children–Trace, Tyler, Hayden, and Callie Beth. We also have an awesome dog, named “Choc”.
We’ve been members of CCC for 15 years and have been teaching children for the past 9 years. What a joy!
There are so many blessings that come to mind as I think about teaching God’s Word to 2nd/3rd graders. I am blessed by:
–Helping them see all of Scripture and all of life from a gospel perspective
–Encouraging Scripture memory and watching the children learn/memorize (long) chapters of the Bible (and they’re so excited!)
–Helping each one understand his/her privileges and responsibilities of being part of the church and covenant community and what it means to serve.
–Teaching how to live the gospel in our relationships–constantly focusing on glory of our great God!
–Playing games, making fun crafts, building the tabernacle, rapping Heidelberg #1,etc.
–But, most of all, I am blessed by the relationships I have with your children. They are wonderful and I love sharing Jesus with them. I am humbled and blessed.
Some of my favorite things:
–sunset skiing on Lake Hiwassee with my family
–crazy adventures with my children
–anything chocolate
–early AM reading with good coffee
–running with my dog (Choc)
