The Children’s Ministry fall offering will support The Salvation Army’s Gainesville Angel Tree program. Donations will purchase gifts for children who attend A. Quinn Jones School. The gifts from CCC will be paired with a handmade card created by our children during the Missions Conference in November.

We are excited to support this community school’s efforts to serve children and share the love of Christ at Christmas. In addition to the Children’s offering, members of Christ Community Church will have the opportunity to select an “angel” from the tree and purchase a gift for a child who attends AQJ. Please contact Stacey Davis, staceydavis78@gmail.com, with questions.

If you haven’t had a chance to peruse the magazine, I encourage you to do so. It has some wonderful articles and is a great resource for our CCC families. I know you’ll be checking back each month for the next new issue!

Stick around after service this Sunday and enjoy a church-wide meal! It’s a potluck,  so please bring a pasta dish if you can.

Dishes can be dropped in the kitchen prior to worship, and a group will take care of warming and serving. The church will provide salad, bread and drinks.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!

Here is information on yesterday’s offertory. Text by Edith Gilling Cherry, Music by Brian Murphy and Patrick Bush.

We rest on Thee,
our shield and our defender
We go not forth
alone against the foe
Strong in Thy might,
safe in Thy keeping tender
We rest on Thee,
and in Thy name we go

Yea in Thy name O captain
of salvation
In Thy dear name all other
names above
Jesus our righteousness,
our sure foundation
Our prince of glory and our king,
our king of love

We go in faith,
our own great weakness feeling
And needing more
each day Thy grace to know
Yet from our hearts
a song of triumph pleading
We rest on Thee
and in Thy name we go

We rest on Thee our shield
and our defender
Thine is the battle,
Thine shall be the praise
When passing through the gates
of pearly splendor
Victors we rest with Thee through endless days
