“Getting To The Heart of Parenting” by Paul Tripp
Parenting is more than using your power to get children to behave in certain
ways. Parenting is all about the exposure and change of the child’s
heart. When the heart of a child changes the behavioral change that is
needed will last. Learn how to be an instrument of heart changing grace in
the little moments of life that God will give you with your children, whether
they are toddlers or teens.
* Richard White will serve as discussion guide.
Study of the Book of Nehemiah
The story of Nehemiah centers around God returning His people from exile
to rebuild the temple and the wall around Jerusalem. As we work through
this Old Testament book we will be focusing on the major theme of God
working sovereignly through responsible human agents to accomplish His
redemptive purposes. This book impacts us as we gain understanding of
how we are to be used by God to be His redemptive agents in our world
now. We will be reading through the OT book and digging into Scripture
together through lecture and discussion.
* This class will be led by Frank Matthews
For a Thousand Tongues to Sing: A Study of Christian Hymnody
Examine the historical, theological and cultural relevance of Christian Hymnody
as it relates to CCC. Each week, we will work through several of the
hymns we sing, studying their origins and writer’s stories, and noting the
theological implications that may be carried throughout the verses. By contemplating
what we sing, we hope to make each song resonate more
strongly when we sing it in corporate worship.
*This class will be led by Christian Smith
