{"id":843,"date":"2011-09-22T15:53:08","date_gmt":"2011-09-22T15:53:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/christcommunitychurch.com\/blog\/?p=843"},"modified":"2011-09-22T15:53:08","modified_gmt":"2011-09-22T15:53:08","slug":"sundays-scripture-treasuring-christ-above-all-things","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/christcommunitychurch.com\/blog\/2011\/09\/22\/sundays-scripture-treasuring-christ-above-all-things\/","title":{"rendered":"Sunday&#8217;s Scripture: Treasuring Christ Above All Things"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up.\u00a0 Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.<\/p>\n<p>Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls, who, on finding one pearl of great value, went and sold all that he had and bought it.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211;Matthew 13:44-46 in the English Standard Version (ESV)<\/p>\n<p>And in &#8220;The Message&#8221; it goes:<br \/>\n&#8220;God&#8217;s kingdom is like a treasure hidden in a field for years and then accidentally found by a trespasser. The finder is ecstatic\u2014what a find!\u2014and proceeds to sell everything he owns to raise money and buy that field.<\/p>\n<p>Or, God&#8217;s kingdom is like a jewel merchant on the hunt for excellent pearls.
