Behold my servant, whom I uphold,
\nmy chosen, in whom my soul delights;
\nI have put my Spirit upon him;
\nhe will bring forth justice to the nations.
\nHe will not cry aloud or lift up his voice,
\nor make it heard in the street;
\na bruised reed he will not break,
\nand a faintly burning wick he will not quench;
\nhe will faithfully bring forth justice.
\nHe will not grow faint or be discouraged
\ntill he has established justice in the earth;
\nand the coastlands wait for his law.
\nThus says God, the LORD,
\nwho created the heavens and stretched them out,
\nwho spread out the earth and what comes from it,
\nwho gives breath to the people on it
\nand spirit to those who walk in it:
\n\u201cI am the LORD; I have called you in righteousness;
\nI will take you by the hand and keep you;
\nI will give you as a covenant for the people,
\na light for the nations,
\nto open the eyes that are blind,
\nto bring out the prisoners from the dungeon,
\nfrom the prison those who sit in darkness.
\nI am the LORD; that is my name;
\nmy glory I give to no other,
\nnor my praise to carved idols.
\nBehold, the former things have come to pass,
\nand new things I now declare;
\nbefore they spring forth
