{"id":2988,"date":"2012-09-05T18:50:07","date_gmt":"2012-09-05T18:50:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/christcommunitychurch.com\/blog\/?p=2988"},"modified":"2012-09-05T16:57:23","modified_gmt":"2012-09-05T16:57:23","slug":"tuesday-evening-womens-study-kicks-off-next-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/christcommunitychurch.com\/blog\/2012\/09\/05\/tuesday-evening-womens-study-kicks-off-next-week\/","title":{"rendered":"Tuesday Evening Women&#8217;s Study Kicks Off Next Week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Have you ever tried to grow a plant without water?\u00a0 Drive a car without fuel?\u00a0 Or run a marathon without training?\u00a0 Then you know how difficult these tasks can be without the right combination.\u00a0 The same can be said for the Christian and prayer.\u00a0 The practice and discipline of prayer not only gives us our proper nutrition and energy, but provides us with the necessary training to equip us for our daily race in life.\u00a0 Prayer is our way to build a relationship with God.\u00a0 Despite this, the practice of prayer is difficult for many Christians.\u00a0 This does not have to be the case!\u00a0 Prayer can be a joyful and delightful experience once we understand that we are actually communing with God himself.<\/p>\n<p>Why do we pray?\u00a0 Is it because we are commanded to?\u00a0 Or do we use it as a way to give thanks to God?\u00a0 Maybe we pray because we are uncertain about a path in life we are facing?\u00a0 The truth is all of these are correct. \u00a0The Heidelberg Catechism addresses the importance of prayer.\u00a0 Question 116 asks: \u201cWhy do Christians need to pray?\u201d with the answer: \u201cBecause prayer is the most important part of the thankfulness God requires of us.\u00a0 And also because God gives His grace and Holy Spirit only to those who pray continually and groan inwardly, asking God for these gifts and thanking him for them.\u201d\u00a0 It goes on in Question 118 to ask: \u201cWhat did God command us to pray for?\u201d with the answer: \u201cEverything we need, spiritually and physically, as embraced in the prayer Christ our Lord Himself taught us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Although many books, articles, and studies are available on prayer, the bible itself is a rich resource for our prayer lives.\u00a0 This Fall the Tuesday evening women\u2019s bible study will be meeting every other Tuesday night from 7-9 to explore what the scriptures teach us about prayer.\u00a0 There are countless examples of prayers in both the Old and New testaments as well as the greatest example of prayer from Christ our Lord.\u00a0 Please join us to explore this further as we will discuss some very important topics about prayer in addition to spending time in prayer so that God will be glorified!\u00a0 More details and locations can be found <a href=\"http:\/\/cccgainesville.com\/#\/connect\/womens-bible-study\" target=\"_blank\">on the CCC website.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday Evening Study Every-other Tuesday Evening, September 11th &#8211;
