{"id":2558,"date":"2012-07-11T20:10:25","date_gmt":"2012-07-11T20:10:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/christcommunitychurch.com\/blog\/?p=2558"},"modified":"2012-07-11T20:10:25","modified_gmt":"2012-07-11T20:10:25","slug":"amy-reinke-reynosa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/christcommunitychurch.com\/blog\/2012\/07\/11\/amy-reinke-reynosa\/","title":{"rendered":"Amy Reinke &#038; Reynosa"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div>\n<div><span><span style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">Amy Reinke was at UF and Christ Community from 2007-2011. \u00a0You can join her email list simply by requesting at\u00a0amykreinke AT gmail DOT com. \u00a0She wrote to us this week as she prepares to travel again to Reynosa, Mexico:<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<blockquote>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">\u00a0I have been drawn to Mexico ever since I visited on a short term trip about four years ago. \u00a0The ministry is called Isaiah 55 (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.isaiah55.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.isaiah55.org\/<\/a>) and is located in Reynosa, Mexico. \u00a0I would encourage you to watch the promotional video on the front page to get a better understanding of the ministry. \u00a0I55 is a grace-based mission that evangelizes the communities of Mexico through the education of the Deaf along with other side ministries. \u00a0The missionaries in Reynosa have become a second family to me over the years and I am so excited to get to see them again. \u00a0It was on a medical trip with this team that the Lord solidified my passion for nursing.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">I will be leaving this Saturday, July 14th and will be gone until the beginning of August. \u00a0At this point, I am going this summer to simply be an extra set of hands. \u00a0But flexibility is the name of the game. \u00a0My days will vary but I will be doing something along the lines of construction, cooking, VBS, helping future missionaries move down, prayer walking, and spending time with the students and Mexican neighbors&#8230;<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">&#8230;God is so evidently at work in Reynosa, despite what you see on the news. \u00a0 Many of the student&#8217;s parents have come to Christ over the past year through\u00a0discipleship\u00a0groups and I can&#8217;t wait to tell you more about it once I get there. \u00a0As John Piper has said time and time again-\u00a0\u201cThe goal of missions is the gladness of the peoples in the greatness of God.\u201d And this is what I\u2019m praying we will see one day in Reynosa.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">I would love for you to be praying for me while I&#8217;m gone and the ministry in general. \u00a0Please be praying for travel safety, physical safety while I am in Reynosa, that I will be an encouragement to the missionaries, and a light for Christ during my time there.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">Thank you for walking alongside me over the years with my involvement in Reynosa, I am truly grateful for everyone who has prayed with me, prayed for me, and just been there for me in so many other ways. \u00a0Each one of you has played a vital part and I can&#8217;t thank you enough. \u00a0I will try to send out a few emails while I am there to update you on what God is doing in the crazy, but wonderful city of Reynosa!
