Another John, the disciple of Jesus who wrote the gospel we are reading from, makes it clear that John the Baptizer came only to bear witness to Jesus. John the Baptizer became very well known in his lifetime. Many people wanted to learn from him and follow him. But he did not let all the attention go to his head. He knew that Jesus alone was the \u201clamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.\u201d Jesus alone was the \u201cone and only Son of God\u201d who could also give us the rights to become God\u2019s sons and daughters through faith. Thank God for all the people he has brought into your life to help you know him better \u2013 you Mom, Dad, Grandparents, teachers, and Christian friends.
